How much notice do I need to give to book a sitter?
We will always try our best to accommodate every request no matter how short notice. It is always advisable to make your booking as soon as possible as this gives you the opportunity to book your preferred sitter. Please note that for bookings made with less than 24 hrs notice will incur a £6.25 booking fee.
Do you provide sitters for the daytime?
We can provide sitters for short term or temporary day placements. Please call us for more information on the services available for day bookings.
Are all of your sitters police checked?
We always ensure that all of our sitters hold a valid police check. These are only valid for 3 years and then will need renewing so we ensure that every sitters police checks are up to date. All of our sitters have enhanced CRB disclosures.
Can we meet the sitter before our booking?
We recommend that for your first booking you allow 30 minutes before your departure. This will let both yourselves and the children have time to meet and chat with the sitter so that the children can familiarise themselves and you can have peace of mind that the children are happy. All of our sitters are qualified and will have a lot of experience working with and caring for children of all ages.
How many children can your crèches look after?
We work strictly to Oftsed regulations when providing our crèches. Please see our staff to child ratios in the special events section of the website. As long as our staff ratios are met and the venue is suitable for the amount of children that you wish to attend the crèche then we have no limits.
Is there anyone in charge of the crèche on the day?
Every crèche will have a lead member of staff; this person will be qualified to NVQ 3 and have a first aid at work certificate. They will ensure the smooth running of the crèche on the day and that all policies and procedures are adhered to.
Will the crèches provide food for the children?
We are happy to assist feeding the children any meals provided by the venue or we can provide a snack of water/fruit juice, a selection of fruit and a biscuit if requested.
How much does a crèche cost?
Prices depend on individual requirements and requests. It also depends on the ages and amount of children attending. All of our crèches are tailored to your individual requests so for more information please give us a call or send us an email and we can give you more details.
What activities will you provide for the children?
Smiley Sitters crèches provide;
- Craft and creative activities
- Story time, books and songs
- Role play and dressing up

- A designated baby area that will have lots of sensory activities
- A Wii (if requested)

- Outdoor activities (if requested)
- Party bags (if requested)
- And lots more fun and exciting games and activities to entertain children of all ages and stages of development.
We can provide party themed crèches with party games etc or a variety of themes suited to your requirements.
